As all formats of Mind Games are completed, I have shifted my focus onto the next part of the METAVERSE, Grimoire of Darkness: the Phoenix Hunter III. The original version of this story that I started many years ago and halted because I had trouble writing it was called the Mystic Tome. Now I am rolling with the story. The first two chapters of the story are in the back of Mind Games. With Grimoire of Darkness, there is time to complete this book. It is not due out til February 18, 2018. Here is Chapter 1 below: one | Chaotic Arrival
CYPRUS FALLS, TEXAS A BLACK SUBURBAN ENTERS the small town of Cyprus Falls, a suburb to the northwest of Storm City, Texas. The passengers are all tired and weary from the travel. Destiny looks over at Chris. She gulps. Then, she feels the anxiousness surrounding him. The suburban pulls to a stop as the light at the cross street is red. Brandon turns his head to the seats behind him. “Where to? We need to find this Michel LeBouf person, quickly.” Brandon says. He runs a hand through his shaggy hair. “The Sheriff's Office.” Sandy says. “Why there?” “My cousin, Coby, is there. He may know.” “What about the Metapol Office?” Destiny asks. “In time, Des.” Brandon responds. “Okay.” Destiny resigns herself to worrying about Chris. The vehicle pulls through the intersection after the light turns green. Destiny pits a hand on Chris’ shoulder. “Everything is going to be okay.” Chris turns his head and glares at Destiny. “You really think so? I do not share your optimism, baby.” “Look, we are on our way to get you help.” Chris raises a brow. “Help? HELP? HELP?!?” Chris screams. “You think I need help?!?” “Yes.” Destiny sternly says. “You need someone who has gone through this transition to guide you.” “Really? You think so, huh?” Chris begins to growl. “You are not going through this! This DOES NOT affect you!!” The suburban comes to a screeching halt. Everybody shifts forward and slams back into their seats. Brandon turns around and points at Chris. There is anger in his eyes. “Shut up and listen!” Brandon orders. “You ain’t the only one this lycanthropy affects! Stop with the self-pity! It affects all in the SUV!!! You understand me?” A look of shock is on Chris’ face. “Yeah, chill, man. I understand you. Everything seems so intense. It is putting me on edge.” “No, shit, man.” Brandon says as he huffs and puff with a sardonic tone in his voice. “You just need to hang on. You will get through this and learn to deal with it.” “Fine.” Chris pouts. He grumbles and turns his head to look out the window. He sighs as a scowl crosses his face. “Just tell me when we get there.” Destiny turns towards Sandy. She sighs as frustration and fear cross her face. “Do you think he’ll be like this from now on?” “I sure hope not, Des.” Sandy responds. “Otherwise, you and he will have a rough life together.” Destiny looks back and forth between Sandy and Chris. A scowl crosses her face. She sighs. “I know, Sands.” Destiny says. She shakes her head. “I do not know if I can deal with him like this all the time.” “I understand, Des. I do.” Sandy says. “I know Chris can be a pain in the ass at times, but he loves you.” Destiny rubs the ring on her left hand. She looks down at it. A sad smile crosses her face. “I know he does. I am just scared that these gruff outbursts are going to be more frequent and violent.” “You can handle yourself.” Sandy says. “I shouldn’t have to.” “I know. It will all be okay in time.” “I hope you are right.” Destiny looks over at Chris as he stares out the window. She gulps. Tears well up as she takes a deep breath. Destiny closes her eyes and begins to meditate with a heavy heart. IT IS NOT LONG before the Suburban pulls into the rather quaint parking lot of the Cyprus Falls Sherriff’s Office. The building is a brick building and the sits on a quarter acre of land. Reminiscent of a old elementary school building. Destiny is pulled out of meditation by the settling of the vehicle. Brandon pulls the keys out of the ignition and hops out of the Suburban. He notices a strange stillness to the air. His intuition starts ringing of trouble brewing. “I do not like this.” He mutters as Roxanne gets out of the passengers’ side. She sees that Brandon is a bit troubled. “Honey, something wrong?” Roxanne asks as she looks around. The sky above begins to fill, rather rapidly, with darkened clouds. “Not sure.” Brandon answers. “This feels like the calm before the storm.” “I know. I feel it, too.” Roxanne says. The back doors open and Sandy, Destiny, and Chris emerge from the Suburban. Chris feels the air and the hairs on the back of his neck stand. “Something’s not right.” He begins growling. “Calm down, Chris.” Roxanne says as a big flash of lightning crosses through the clouds above. Chris turns, suddenly, as a bolt of lightning strikes the ground nearby. Michelle awakens. She smacks her lips and stretches out her arms as she yawns. She feels another presence and looks out the back window of the Suburban. The lightning bolt begins to form in a humanoid shape. With her telekinetic powers, she blows off the back door of the Suburban and exits the vehicle. She jumps onto the ground. Michelle begins sprinting away from the vehicles and everyone. Sandy turns. “Wait! Michelle!” Everyone begins rushing towards Michelle. Another bolt of lightning crashes down on top of Michelle. Then, a bright flash covers the area. Everyone stops and shades their eyes. The light dissipates. All that is left is a burn mark on the pavement. Michelle is gone!
